Henry County Commissioner Kenneth Humphreys Recognized for Outstanding Service to Counties

Henry County Commissioner Kenneth Humphreys has received the Tennessee County Services Association’s 2026 Robert M. Wormsley Outstanding County Official of the Year Award, recognizing his decades of service to Henry County and his dedication to county government across Tennessee. TCSA Executive Director David Connor presented the award to Humphreys on October 22 at the TCSA Fall Conference in Murfreesboro. Named for former TCSA Executive Director Bob Wormsley, the award honors public servants whose leadership reflects a commitment to public service and effective county government.

Humphreys has represented Henry County for four decades on the county commission, serving on numerous key committees that oversee essential services and needs for his county’s residents. He has also served in leadership positions within county associations, including a stint on the TCSA Board of Directors, where he brought West Tennessee’s perspective to the association’s statewide legislative priorities and activities. Humphreys also spent a career serving his community as an educator in the county school system and as a church pastor. He is well known for forming a nationally recognized madrigal program for Henry County high school students.

“We are honored to present this year’s highest honor from TCSA, the Robert M. Wormsley Outstanding County Official Award, to Kenneth,” said Connor. “Mr. Humphreys has been a lifelong servant to his community, always stepping up to serve whenever a need arose, without seeking acclaim. He embodies the ideal of a true public servant. We are proud to have the opportunity to recognize his many contributions to Henry County and to Tennessee with this award.”
