TCCA Regional Meetings Reminder

The Tennessee County Commissioners Association still has a few regional meetings remaining across the state in September. All meetings will begin with registration at 5:30 PM local time and conclude by 8:30 PM. Also, if any commissioner has a school board member as a friend, please bring them with you.

If you haven't already, let TCCA Director Charlie Curtiss know how many commissioners from your county 
plan to attend. If you have any questions, please email or call Charlie at (931) 607-1982.

CTAS Shares Updated Training Requirements for Tennessee County Commissioners

CTAS has created an updated video containing some new information about county commissioners' training requirements. This video includes the newly updated amount of training hours, types of training available and applicable, and so much more. TNECD Announces Two New Select Tennessee Certified Sites

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) today announced that two sites have been certified through the Select Tennessee Certified Sites program.

Seventy-seven sites across Tennessee have been certified to date. The newest certified sites and their local sponsoring agencies include:

I-40 Advantage Industrial Park – Brownsville-Haywood Economic Development Corporation, the city of Brownsville and Haywood County

Canterbury Site – Dickson County Economic Development Alliance

“The Select Tennessee Certified Sites program is a crucial component of our rural and community development efforts and prepares communities across the state to attract new industry and investment,” said TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter. “I commend the leadership in Dickson and Haywood Counties for taking the appropriate steps to ensure their communities are ready to land future economic development opportunities...”

Ford Delays BlueOval City Truck Launch Date

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Ford has announced that they are delaying the introduction of its next-generation electric trucks at BlueOval City’s Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center in West Tennessee as it shifts its EV strategy.

After spending billions on electric vehicles since their debut, the company is now scaling back the pace of spending on EVs.
