TCCA Regional Meeting Reminder

Members and Partners,

This is a reminder for the upcoming TCCA Regional Meetings schedule for fall 2024. All meetings will begin with registration at 5:30 PM local time and conclude by 8:30 PM. Also, if any of you have a school board member as a friend, bring them with you.

CTAS and Association Affiliates Host Another Successful County Officials Orientation Program in 2024

TCHOA recently hosted 10 new highway executives at CTAS’s 2024 County Officials Orientation Program. Highway officials were able to learn the basic roles and responsibilities of their positions as well as network with highway officials from other counties throughout Tennessee. Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) representatives and leaders were also present on the Thursday morning TCHOA meeting to discuss pressing issues facing highway departments in all four regions of the state.

We look forward to seeing the new highway officials in September’s TCHOA regional membership meetings throughout Tennessee. Please check the TCHOA website for more information about those meetings, as well as TCSA’s Fall Conference and Trade Show in Rutherford County on October 23 - 25, 2024.

ACM Conference Reminder and Finalized Agenda

July Revenue Reports

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Finance and Administration Commissioner Jim Bryson today announced that revenues for July were $1.7 billion, which is $51.2 million more than July of last year. The total growth rate for the month was 3.10 percent.

“July total tax revenues grew more than expected in the final month of the fiscal year,” Bryson said. “Sales tax receipts, motor vehicle registration fees, fuel tax, gross receipts taxes, and franchise and excise tax collections all contributed to the monthly revenue gains...

TNECD Announces LOI Acceptance Period for ISP's and Consultants

Good afternoon Broadband Stakeholders,  

As you may have seen in TNECD's press release this week, TNECD BEAD Volume II has been approved. A copy is available on the department's website here. 

In addition, TNECD anticipates opening the grant round for this program in November. The department is awaiting the approval of NTIA's challenge process results, which will allow it to move forward with the grant round. Eligible applicants are those authorized to provide broadband service in Tennessee. 

Potential applicants must submit the Letter of Intent form on the TNECD department website to apply for the program. This is a requirement of the program. The LOI is open until October 9 at 11:59 PM CT. Providers can view the initial eligible data on their website subject to final approval by NTIA. 

The department also has some workshops in the pipeline for this program! These workshops are open to ISPs and their consultants eligible to apply for the BEAD program.
