TCSA's 2024 Fall Conference + Trade Show Registration Now Open

We are excited to announce that TCSA’s highly anticipated 2024 Annual Conference & Trade Show is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for October 23 - 25, 2024, and join us at Embassy Suites in Rutherford County (Murfreesboro), Tennessee, for an exceptional event filled with opportunities to network, learn, and innovate at the county government level.

Registration Details:

  • Conference Registration: Ensure your spot by registering on the TCSA website
  • You can also print a paper registration form and mail it to the TCSA office at 226 Anne Dallas Dudley Blvd, Suite 700, Nashville, TN, 37219.  
    • Conference registration costs
      • TCSA County Officials: $375
      • Other conference registrants: $400
      • Spouses/Guests: $100
  • On-site registration is available, but space is limited. We encourage early registration to guarantee your participation and proper name badge availability.

CTAS: Tennessee County Environmental Compliance

Counties are responsible for implementing several state and federal environmental programs. Environmental regulations protect human health and welfare and can impact community and economic development. This class will summarize the significant environmental programs that impact Tennessee Counties and provide examples of how these programs are planned, budgeted, and implemented.

*This training meets county elective requirements in the COCTP.

  • September 5, 2024 - Dickson County Extension Conference
  • November 12, 2024 - Jackson Energy Authority

THEC Awarded $35 Million GEAR UP Grant to Enhance College Readiness Across the State

NASHVILLE, TN – AUGUST 26, 2024 – The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $35 million GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) grant from the U.S. Department of Education.

This seven-year grant, set to run from September 2024 through September 2031, will play a pivotal role in promoting college readiness and success among students in Tennessee, particularly in underserved and at-risk communities.

"A quality education can change the trajectory of a student's life," said Gov. Bill Lee. "The GEAR UP grant will help us continue to create greater opportunity and outcomes for Tennessee's most vulnerable students while helping our state meet its workforce goals."

Gov. Lee Awards GIVE Grants to Further Strengthen Rural Workforce Development

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Today, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee announced recipients of the Governor’s Investment in Vocational Education (GIVE) grant program, which prioritizes learning opportunities in rural counties and enhances career and technical education statewide. Tennessee has made notable progress in rural workforce development which has resulted in securing over 41,500 new jobs and nearly $19 billion in capital investment in rural counties since 2019. This third round of GIVE grants will allocate $41 million to foster regional partnerships between Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCATs), community colleges and local industries.

“The state with the workers will win every time, and that’s why rural workforce development has been one of my top priorities since day one,” said Gov. Lee. “As a result, companies are choosing to invest and expand in our state, creating greater opportunity and quality of life for all Tennesseans.”
