ACM Regional Meeting: East TN Updated Meeting Information

The Association of County Mayors has announced its summer 2024 regional meetings for county mayors, partners, and interested county officials statewide. Each meeting will be held locally, so please account for timezone changes if you are traveling cross-state. We look forward to seeing you there. 

The East Tennessee Meeting Information has been updated. The new location for the East Tennessee meeting is the Hörmann North American Headquarters, located at 450 Airport Road, Sparta, TN 38583.

Montgomery County Highway Department Celebrates Groundbreaking of New Facility

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Approximately 130 people attended the Montgomery County Highway Department’s groundbreaking event on May 20, 2024, to celebrate the official construction of the new administrative and maintenance buildings, expected to be complete by late spring of 2025 at 1213 Highway Drive.

TDOE Releases 2023-24 3rd Grade and 4th Grade ELA TCAP State-Level Results

3rd Grade Improvement Remains Steady; 4th Grade Makes Significant Improvement

June 13, 2024 [Nashville, TN]— The Tennessee Department of Education recently released statewide average 3rd grade and 4th grade results for the ELA portion of the spring 2024 Tennessee Comprehensive Academic Program (TCAP) assessment. Third grade student scores remained steady as 4th grade student scores showed significant improvement, thanks to the nation-leading, comprehensive statewide literacy strategy for Tennessee public schools.

"Tennessee's strategic education investments have resulted in significant gains in reading for students across the state," said Gov. Bill Lee. "As we continue our work to ensure that all Tennessee students can read at grade level, we remain committed to supporting teachers and empowering families with multiple pathways to achievement so every student can thrive in their academic journey."
