2011 Planning & Zoning

  • Members of coordinating committees charged with developing and amending countywide growth plans are not required to be residents of the city or county unless they are members by virtue of being a public official having such a requirement for their office.  The coordinating committee is not authorized to reject members appointed to the committee under T.C.A. ' 6-58-104(a).  Some appointments are subject to confirmation by the legislative body, but no other official, board, or committee is authorized to reject an individual who has been appointed to the committee.  Opinion No. 11-77 (November 14, 2011).
