2013 County Clerks

• The 10% fee county clerks are authorized to charge under T.C.A. § 55-4-105(g) for delinquent motor vehicle registration fees is not mandatory but is within the clerk’s discretion.  This fee does not apply to late initial registrations or to delinquent wheel tax, but only to late renewal fees.  Opinion No. 13-94 (November 27, 2013).
