2014 Annexation

• The moratorium on annexation created under T.C.A. § 6-51-122 prohibits annexation by ordinance on the city’s own initiative, but it does not prohibit annexation by ordinance upon petition of a majority of the affected residents and property owners, nor does it prohibit annexation by referendum.  Opinion No. 14-07 (January 10, 2014).
